Female driver arrested in Beloit after leaving crash scene

Beloit authorities recently arrested a female driver who was suspected of leaving the scene of an accident after striking a child riding a bicycle with her vehicle, according to reports published on November 9th.

Reports said 24-year-old Amber Mayfield is facing misdemeanor charges after she was suspected of hitting a child with her vehicle on November 3rd. The accident reportedly happened near the intersection of McKinley and Madison; the unidentified child on the bicycle suffered minor injuries as a result. The child was later released after receiving medical attention. Mayfield left the scene of the accident, and police tracked her vehicle in order to locate the offender and make the arrest. A video of the accident was released by authorities. Mayfield has been cited for misdemeanor offenses, including causing injury during a hit-and-run.
