Impaired driver busted in Stevens Point

A driver suspected of operating a vehicle while intoxicated (OWI) was recently apprehended by local authorities, according to reports from October 13.

Officials said Stevens Point resident Casey Edlebeck, 30, was driving recklessly on Interstate 39 on October 10. A criminal complaint revealed that Edlebeck showed signs of intoxication while he was being questioned by authorities. The officers learned that Edlebeck, who stated that he was coming from a methadone clinic in Wausau, had an active warrant out for his arrest. Upon searching his vehicle, authorities recovered various drugs and paraphernalia. Edlebeck was booked at Portage County Jail and a bail of $1,000 was set by a judge.
