Thousands of Impalas in the U.S. with fire risk recalled

More than 1,000 Chevrolet Impalas in the U.S. with braking issues that may lead to fire are being recalled by automaker General Motors, a March 2 article of Consumer Affairs stated.

The recall reportedly affects 1,177 Chevy Impalas with braking arms that may fail to retract properly. The Impalas may suddenly catch fire if the rotors get stuck to the brake pads. To address the problem, new braking control module software will be installed by GM dealers for free to the affected vehicles. Owners of the recalled Chevy Impalas may reach GM through their customer service hotline for more information.
