Chrysler urged to hasten recall of Jeep vehicles

The National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration (NHTSA) recently urged Chrysler to increase its efforts to quickly repair 1.5 million recalled Jeeps, an ABC News article stated on November 20.

NHTSA in a letter told the automaker giant to reevaluate their recall efforts and make sure that owners of affected Jeep vehicles are provided correct information from dealers. The NHTSA reportedly received complaints from Jeep owners that their vehicles are not being repaired due to lack of necessary parts. At least 51 deaths have been linked to fiery accidents that involved Jeep vehicles. A trailer hitch is needed to be installed in recalled Jeeps to prevent its fuel tanks from getting struck in rear-end crashes.
