Two officers injured in Menomonie OWI crash

Two on-duty police officers were recently injured in Menomonie after they were struck by a vehicle, abc18 reported on September 4.

Reports said the accident happened on September 2 on 14th Avenue. Officers Maloree Switlick and Daniel Westlund were patrolling on bike around 1:00 a.m. when they were struck by a vehicle that did not stop. Vehicle driver Jacob Bruce, 20, was later identified and arrested after Officer Switlick saw the license plate of the vehicle that struck them. The two officers were taken to a hospital to receive treatment for non-life threatening injuries. Appropriate charges were filed against Bruce, including charges of OWI and hit-and-run resulting in injuries.
