Free federal online service allows people to check recalled vehicles

A free online service was recently introduced by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). It allows people to check their vehicles to see if they were involved a recall but were not fixed, an article from CBS DFW reported on August 20.

The NHTSA introduced www.safecar.gov for people to easily find out the status of their vehicles. Vehicle owners only need to visit the site and key in the information required to get the results. This includes the VIN registration number.

The website is also beneficial for people planning to buy a used car, the NHTSA said. New recalls will also be posted on safecar.gov. The website is reportedly a breakthrough since it collates updated data from car makers that can be easily accessed by people who want to know more about their vehicles’ past statuses.

The Stevens Point lawyers of Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. believe that many people have to endure great financial loss after suffering injuries caused by recalled vehicles that were not repaired. If this happened to you we may be able to help you recover your financial losses by pursuing claims against irresponsible parties. Call us today at 800-242-2874 to find out how we can help you.
