Subaru issued recall of vehicles with Takata airbags in humid areas

Subaru is recalling more than 8,500 older vehicles that possess faulty airbags supplied by Japanese firm Takata, an article by the Chicago Tribune stated on July 8.

Subaru is the eighth automaker to recall vehicles built with defective airbags manufactured by Takata. Subaru’s recall of their vehicles in regions with increased humidity was in compliance with an NHTSA request. Aside from recalling the vehicles in the southern U.S., Subaru expanded its recall to vehicles in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and Hawaii. Subaru said they are not aware of any injuries or accidents involving their recalled vehicles.
