GM recalls thousands of Saab convertibles

General Motors (GM) recently issued recall for 28,789 old Saab convertibles due to a possible seat belt problem that could potentially endanger drivers and passengers.

The recall affects the 2004-2011 convertible models. These models may have flimsy seat belt retractors on the driver’s side. A car accident could cause serious damage to driver’s who may not be properly protected by their safety restraints.

Fortunately, however, there have not been any injury reports related to this vehicular malfunction. Owners of the recalled Saab convertibles are eligible to have their seat belt retractors reinforced at no cost.

When the safety features vehicles malfunction, people can be put in harm’s way. If you have been injured in an accident caused, or made worse, by an auto defect, you may be eligible to receive financial compensation from the responsible vehicle manufacturer.
