One dead in Highway 83 accident

A man was reportedly killed after he was struck by a vehicle in Merton, WISN12 reported on Tuesday, March 11.

The fatal accident happened on Highway 83 south of County Line Road at around 6:00 a.m. when a 42-year-old man, whose name was withheld, was struck by vehicle. Waukesha County Sheriff Department’s Jennifer Wallschlaeger said the man apparently struck a deer and was moving the animal out of the road when he was struck. He was pronounced dead in Aurora Hospital due to serious injuries he sustained in the accident.

The driver of the other vehicle, whose name was also withheld, did not sustain injuries in the crash.

Wallschlaeger instructed motorists to remain inside their vehicles and call authorities during accidents.
