Intoxicated driver arrested for the 10th time

A Stevens Point driver was recently arrested for his 10th drunk driving offense after he was involved in a single-vehicle crash, according to a news report on February 21.

According to reports, the vehicle of 38-year-old Michael Vollrath was found in a ditch by deputies along Highway 66 in Linwood at around 1:00 a.m. Upon questioning, deputies found that Vollrath had a 0.27 percent blood alcohol and arrested him. Vollrath, who had been imprisoned for drunk driving several times, was ordered by court to be held on a $25,000 cash bond while waiting for formal charges against him.

He is expected to show up in Portage County Court on the 10th of March.
