Rapper DMX held for DUI charges

Rap artist Earl Simmons, popularly known as DMX, was charged with driving under the influence, according to a South Carolina Highway Patrol report on July 30.

According to the media relations department of South Carolina Highway Patrol, DMX was pulled over after he was seen driving “erratically” on July 25 at around 11 p.m. The following day, however, his publicist Domenick Nati denied the charges against the rapper, stating that DMX was immediately released after being arrested and passing a breathalyzer test.

However, Sgt. Bob Beres said the rapper was transported to Greenville Detention Center after he failed a sobriety test given to him and was charged with a DUI, driving without a driver’s license, and not wearing a seat belt.

Fortunately,  no one was hurt in this accident; however, far too many people in Stevens Point are injured by reckless and drunk drivers every year.
