Pickup truck causes two injuries and a car to catch fire in Sheboygan

An unsecured box in a pickup truck bed started an accident, which caused two people to be injured and a car to catch fire last Sunday, the 10th.

A 72-year-old Sheboygan man, who was driving eastbound along E. Wisconsin Highway 28, apparently failed to properly secure a box in the open bed of his pickup truck, causing it to spring out and land on the road.

He stopped his truck in a busy lane to retrieve the box, causing a 43-year-old Waldo woman, who was driving a Mercury Sable vehicle, to hit the box and crash into the stopped pickup truck from behind.

Her vehicle caught fire in the crash, and two family members, a 61-year-old and a 29-year-old, who were in the cab of the truck sustained injuries.

After the accident, the pickup truck driver was issued a ticket for not properly securing the load in his truck.

Sadly, accidents caused by reckless drivers cause innocent people undue injuries regularly in the U.S. If this has happened to you, call 800-242-2874 to find out how you may be able to collect compensation.
