A 23-year-old man is in critical condition as a result of a car accident that occurred on Highway 57 on Saturday night.

A 39-year-old man was killed in the crash after his car crossed the center line and struck another car head-on. Officials have stated that alcohol and speed were not factors in the crash, and the cause is still under investigation.

The 23-year-old man was the passenger in the car that was struck and he survived the wreck, but was transported to the hospital by helicopter in order to be treated.

Car accidents can have life-changing effects on all involved and this is why it is particularly important to drive safely in the winter when inclement weather is more common. Our thoughts are with the victim’s friends and family.
