Man faces sixth OWI charge

A man from Sun Prairie was arrested for his sixth operating while intoxicated offense over the weekend.

The 40-year-old man was arrested and taken into custody after being found with a blood alcohol content of .199 perfect. A person with five previous OWI offenses is not legally allowed to drive with a blood alcohol content over 0.02 percent.

Deputies first became suspicious of the driver after he stopped at a “stop ahead” sign instead of the actual stop sign. The driver then proceeded south on Wisconsin 26 and when he stopped at the T-intersection, he was trying to turn left where you can only turn right.

The deputy pulled him over and had him perform a field sobriety test before taking him to the Dodge County Detention Facility.
