Man charged with reckless driving after wrong-way driving incident

A man has been arrested for reckless driving after he was found driving the wrong direction on I-43 in Milwaukee.

The 45-year-old man drove nearly five miles northbound in the southbound lanes of I-43. He also almost caused a head-on collision with another motorist while doing so.

The motorist swerved and struck a median to avoid hitting the man. A sheriff then caught up with the man and ordered him to get out of his vehicle.

He underwent a field sobriety test and had a blood alcohol content of 0.25 percent, which is over the legal limit. He was charged with second-degree reckless driving and operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
