Driver involved in hit-and-run accident found by police

A hit-and-run accident  occurred after a man struck a gas meter on the side of a house in Sturgeon Bay and caused a minor gas leak.

Wisconsin Public Service Corp. was called to the scene and evacuated two blocks of homes in order to avoid issues with the gas leak. The incident first began when a woman reported her car stolen, the stepson and the vehicle were both found as a result of the crash.

The 19-year-old driver was currently on probation at the time and had a no contact order with the residence that was struck. The driver was charged with reckless driving, disorderly conduct with a motor vehicle and endangering safety.
