Woman and son killed in accident on Highway 29

Last Wednesday, a woman and her son, both of Birnamwood, were killed in a two-vehicle reckless driving car accident on Highway 29 in Shawano County.  According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, 40-year old Daisy R. Parker was attempting to drive across the highway and onto Killdeer Road when an sports utility vehicle traveling westbound struck her car.

The accident occurred at around 11:30 A.M. outside of Wittenberg.  Parker and her 18-year old son, Dean M. Knudsen, were killed in the accident.  The four occupants of the SUV were taken to nearby hospitals for various injuries.  Police continue to investigate the tragic accident, but say that weather conditions and alcohol did not factor into the accident.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Parker and Knudsen’s family and friends.
