Semi-truck loses tires, tires fly into car

Yesterday morning, an unusual accident occurred on Highway 41 near Allenton, Wisconsin involving a semi-truck and Dodge Neon.  The semi-truck was traveling southbound on the highway when two of its tires spontaneously flew off and into the other vehicle.  29-year old James Likeric was driving the Dodge in the northbound lanes of the highway with his wife, 30-year old Karina Likeric.

Paramedics had to rescue the husband and wife using the jaws of life.  The two were rushed to Hartford Memorial Hospital and have since been released.  Investigators with the Wisconsin State Patrol are looking into the accident to determine if the driver, trucking company, truck manufacturer or tire manufacturer should be held liable.
