Reedsburg man injured in car accident

Last Thursday morning, a Reedsburg man was injured in a two-car accident on Highway 154.  According to the Sauk County Sheriff’s Department, the accident occurred when 64-year old Louis M. Raupp was traveling westbound on the highway and drifted left of the centerline.  Raupp’s 1999 Dodge Caravan then sideswiped a truck traveling eastbound and driven by 54-year old Kent A. Erdmann of Hillpoint.

The accident occurred just before 11:15 AM and just west of Sugar Maple Road.  Raupp had to be removed from his vehicle by emergency medical services and firefighters.  He was taken to Reedsburg Area Medical Center with serious injuries.  Erdmann was not injured in the accident.

Raupp was later transferred to Wisconsin Hospital in Madison via helicopter and his condition has since improved to “fair”.
