Somo crash injures three

A crash occurred in Somo this Wednesday, leaving three injured.

The collision happened on Highway 8 at Garvin Place around 3:50 p.m. The authorities determined that, after the impact, one of the cars continued off the road, striking a telephone pole and tree. Emergency workers from the Tomahawk Fire Department were left with the task of helping two people exit that car, while the third passenger was able to leave on their own.

According to the authorities, the driver was air-lifted to Aspirus Wausau Hospital, but did not suffer any life threatening injuries. The two other passengers in that car suffered minor injuries. The driver of the second vehicle in the crash did not suffer any injuries.

A police investigation has not yet determined the cause of the accident, but investigators did say that alcohol was not involved in the crash.
