Crash ends high speed chase

Marshfield police were involved in a high speed pursuit that resulted in two arrests and an ongoing search for a third suspect. The chase saw police through Portage County, as the suspects eventually crashed their vehicle west of Stevens Point, near the intersection of County Road E and M. The suspects fled the crash site, going into nearby woods, where two were apprehended by authorities.

The pursuit began Tuesday after police officers arrived in the morning to investigate a report of retail theft at a Marshfield Wal-Mart. There, police identified the suspects, but were unable to apprehend them prior to their flight. Spotted by investigators, the driver of the suspects’ car fled the scene, leading to the eventual pursuit and crash.

Chases like these usually end in disaster. However, it does not even take a high speed pursuit to cause injury to you or someone you love. Speeding is against the law.
