Police Chase Ends in 2nd OWI

A 35-year-old Stevens Point man fled officers in a high-speed police chase early Sunday morning, police said. Police began pursuing the man when the saw him driving 76 miles per hour in a 40-miles-per-hour zone. Speeds of more than 100 miles per hour were reported in rural areas, but police said he slowed some when he neared more populated areas.

Spike stripes deflated at least one of the vehicle’s tires, police said. The man eventually drove into a dead end. He was arrested for his second operating while intoxicated violation. He has also been charged with fleeing an officer and speeding, authorities said.

Driving while intoxicated endangers those around you and could cause serious injuries in the case of a crash. If you or someone you know has been injured in a car accident, contact the Stevens Point car accident lawyers of Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. ®, today by calling 800-242-2874.
