Deputy Injured in Crash

A Marathon County deputy stopped to check on a vehicle in a ditch Saturday night when his squad car was hit from behind. He was inside his vehicle at the time of the crash. The vehicle that hit the squad car was traveling at 65 miles per hour.

The 41-year-old deputy was taken to the hospital, treated and released, authorities say. The other driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, but police say the only passenger was not injured. Wisconsin State Patrol is investigating the crash.
