Stevens Point Campus Requests Crosswalks

The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point campus has requested the installation of more pedestrian crosswalks to prevent vehicle collisions with walkers.

Pedestrians have become a common sight on campus recently, with many walking as much as 15 blocks to school. But the school isn’t equipped to handle this increased walking traffic. Both faculty and student administrations are hoping to requisition money to install new pedestrian crosswalks to handle the higher volume of walkers and to prevent potential accidents before they happen. Although no one has been injured to date, there are concerns that if something is not done soon, an injury or worse is likely.
