A man was killed in a Stevens Point motorcycle accident Saturday, authorities say.
According to officials with the Portage County Sheriff’s office, a 30 year-old Mosinee man was involved in a motorcycle accident early Saturday morning on County Trunk E northwest of Stevens Point. Police say the man was thrown from his motorcycle after it struck a deer on the roadway.
The man was transported by medical helicopter to Marshfield hospital. He was pronounced dead a short time later. The victim was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. His name has not been released, pending notification of his family.

A truck driver from Stevens Point is in the hospital following a crash in Stockton Monday morning.
According to officials with the Portage County Sheriff’s Department, the accident occurred shortly before 9:00 a.m. on Highway B in the town of Stockton. Police say a 27 year-old delivery truck driver from Stevens Point was turning into a private driveway when he was struck from behind by a pickup truck.
The delivery truck driver was transported by medical helicopter to Aspirus Wausau Hospital following the crash. His injuries do not appear to be life threatening, but his exact condition is not known, police say.
The other driver was not injured in the crash. Police have not said whether he will be cited.
Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

A pregnant woman sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle Stevens Point car accident Tuesday.
According to officials with the Stevens Point Police Department, two vehicles collided when a car stopped short to avoid a bicyclist at a Stevens Point intersection. The driver said he could not see the biker because he moved in front of a bus.
Police say a pregnant woman was injured in the crash. She was transported by ambulance to St. Michaels Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, officers say. Her baby did not appear to be in danger.
Three other people were involved in the crash. They were treated at the scene and did not require additional care, according to hospital officials.
Police are still investigating the accident. They are searching for the bicyclist, who rode away from the scene of the crash.

Three people connected to a fatal 2007 crash involving a police officer are working to educate emergency personnel on safe driving.
In October 2007, 18 year-old Mindy Sue Erickson was driving through a Stevens Point intersectin when a squad car driven by Portage County Sheriff’s Department Sergeant Ken Tschudy struck her vehicle while he was responding to a report of a hit-and-run. Erickson died as the result of her injuries.
Erickson’s mother Nancy, Tschudy, and Denise Schults, a dispatcher who was working at the time of the crash, have joined together to give presentations to emergency personnel about the dangers of operating an official vehicle. “Mindy wanted to ben an educator,” Erickson said. “What better way to honor her than to educate or remind law enforcement?”
Tschudy said the three are working to inform emergency personnel about what can happen, even when they’re responding to what seems to be a routine call.

Two people were injured in a two-vehicle car accident in Boscobel Tuesday afternoon.
According to officials with the Grant County Sheriff’s Department, 44 year-old police officer Todd Stenner was traveling northbound on Elm Street in a squad car when the accident occurred. Police say a vehicle driven by 21 year-old Jordana Webwer, of La Crosse, turned east onto Kansas Street in front of Stenner. The two vehicles collided nearly head-on and were both totaled.
Stenner, who was on patrol at the time of the accident, and Webwer were both transported by ambulance to Boscobel Area Health Care with non-life-threatening head and neck injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.

A man from Plover is in jail following a fatal Stevens Point car accident that killed an Almond man.
According to officials with the Portage County Sheriff’s Department, 54 year-old Douglas Kealiher was killed when a car driven by the Plover man pulled out in front of his motorcycle shortly after 9:00 p.m. Saturday at County A and D in the Town of Lanark.
Police have not released the name of the Plover man. He was booked into the Portage County Jail on a charge of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle.
The crash remains under investigation.

An Ohio woman was seriously injured in a Stevens Point car accident Wednesday.
According to officials with the Wisconsin State Patrol, Suhur Jama from Westerville, Ohio, the accident occurred shortly before 5:00 p.m. Wednesday on I-90/I-94. Police say Jama had just passed a tractor-trailer when she lost control of her 2001 Mazda Tribute. Her vehicle went into the median, rolled over, and came to rest on its roof.
Jama was taken to Hess Memorial Hospital in Mauston following the crash. She was later flown to University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison. A spokesman for UW Hospital described her injuries as life threatening.
The crash remains under investigation.

Thee women died in an early Sunday morning rollover car accident in Richland County, police say.
According to officials with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department, the fatal accident occurred near the intersection of Highway X and Echo Glen Road. Authorities say 19 year-old Jessica N. Dull, of Richland Center, 20 year-old Jessica L. Hartung, of Elmwood, and 19 year-old Amanda M. Newman, of Elk Mound, were killed when their vehicle rolled over.
Officials say Dull was driving a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse south on County Highway X when she lost control of the vehicle which became airborne, left the roadway, and struck a group of trees. The car came to rest upside down.
A fourth passenger, 19 year-old Samantha Turnipseed, of Richland Center, was transported to La Crosse hospital with severe injuries.

A boy rom Burnsville was killed Sunday in a Stevens Point car accident, police say.
According to officials with the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office, 16 year-old Alexander Maslow was driving his 1999 Toyota Camry, alone, northbound on County Trunk Highway CC in Star Prarie shortly after 1:30 a.m. Sunday when the crash occurred. Maslow’s vehicle left the roadway, struck an embankment, became airborne and overturned, crashing into a ditch, police say.
Maslow was wearing his seat belt at the time, but he was partially ejected from the vehicle. He was transported by helicopter to Regions Hospital in St. Paul Sunday, where he was pronounced dead later that day.
Maslow reportedly became lost while driving to a friend’s family cabin. “We don’t know if he was swerving to avoid an animal – if he just missed a curve,” said his mother Kathy Maslow. “It was dark.”

Three people were killed in a car accident in Chetek Sunday.
According to officials with the Wisconsin State Patrol, the crash occurred shortly after 2:00 p.m. Sunday on County Highway D-F east of Star Lake Road, east of Chetek. A 2010 Chvrolet Camaro, driven by 51 year-old Joseph Kaminski, of Chetek, was traveling eastbound on County Highway D-F when it was struck head-on by a 2001 Infinity Carryall driven by 29 year-old David Sandlers, of Victoria, Australia.
Three people were fatally injured in the crash. The passengers in Kaminski’s vehicle, 45 year-old Karen Kaminski, of Chetek, 10 year-old Kyle Kaminski, of Chetek, and 12 year-old Barbara Kimball of Marengo, IL were all pronounced dead later that day. All three were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
