Wisconsin OWI offenders face required jail time

On Tuesday, March 18 the Wisconsin Senate approved a bill that would require drunk drivers to spend a month in jail if they caused injury to someone while intoxicated.

If approved by Governor Scott Walker, judges would immediately sentence OWI (operating while intoxicated) offenders to jail for a minimum of 30 days. In addition to the 30 day sentence, drivers convicted of their 7th drunk driving offense could face a sentence of 3 years in prison.

Sadly, people who are injured by intoxicated drivers often struggle from physical and financial hardships during the recovery process. If you are recovering from an accident caused by a drunk driver in Stevens Point, the attorneys of Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. ®, may be able to help you recover compensation to cover damages.
