Research shows that failure to use blinkers causes accidents nationwide

New research done by the Society of Automotive Engineers shows that nearly half of drivers do not use their turn signals when changing lanes, passing cars, or turning.

The study discussed this issue with nearly 12,000 drivers and 48 percent stated that they do not use their blinkers. In this group, 42 percent stated that they do not have enough time to use it while driving and 23 percent admitted that they are just too lazy to use it.

Is it a law in every state to use a blinker, but many law enforcement agencies find it difficult to track this. The failure to use a turn signal may not only cause a person to be cited by police, but it also can cause a serious accidents. Nearly 2 million accidents a year occur due to the lack of turn signal usage.
