Seven fatal car crashes in Sheboygan County in 2011

Seven fatal car accidents occurred in Sheboygan County in 2011, according to a report from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.

According to the report, three of the seven fatal accidents involved alcohol and one was a pedestrian accident. The pedestrian accident was a hit-and-run, but the driver was later found and charged with six crimes as a result.

Throughout the county’s history, half of the fatal accidents are alcohol-related so the 3 to 7 ratio is an improvement. Although this is an improvement, officials are not happy with this number and continue to do what is needed to lower it. Statewide, there were 567 fatal accidents.
