Officials push for pedestrian access on bridge

At the Long-Range Lakefront Planning Committee meeting, the city development commissioner made a pitch to add pedestrian and bicycle access to the Hoan Bridge.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has denied proposals to include a bike and pedestrian lane on the bridge since it opened decades ago. The commissioner made the case that other landmark bridges, such as the Golden Gate Bridge, use a pedestrian lane as a tourist destination.

A special lane for pedestrians is also a safe idea. If you or a loved one has been injured after being involved pedestrian accident, contact the Stevens Point pedestrian accident lawyers of Habush Habush & Rottier, S.C., by calling 800-242-2874 today.
